Also, 4.4 million Hispanic adults were diagnosed with arthritis. It has been estimated that 78 million (26%) of US adults ages 18 years or older will be projected to have doctor-diagnosed arthritis by 2040 (Barbour, Helmick, Boring & Brady, 2014). Arthritis is one of the leading cause of disability and pain in the US. While the prevalence of Osteoarthritis has been doubled over time, the prevalence of Rheumatoid arthritis has declined.
